My First Art Journal

What a productive day I've had!  I've been thinking, researching and planning on creating my first art journal.  FINALLY, today was the day!  Not only was it easy, but FUN!  I used a piece of my old, worn quilt as a cover, and sewed in my cardstock.  Then, I painted each page with acrylics and water to prep each page for when I'm ready to create.  Here is my first page:

Do you have an art journal that you work in?

Painting on canvas

Lately, I'm very attracted to the combination of canvas, paint, stamps and fabric.  So, here is my first attempt.  I started with Claudine Hellmuth's sticky-back canvas and things just kept evolving from there.  Back to the craft table:)

Delight In the Details

If you haven't bought yours yet, what are you waiting for?  Lisa Pace is an awesome artist with so much to share in her Delight in the Details book.  Every page provides mountains of beautiful inspiration.  When my autographed copy came this week, I had to hide in my craft room and savor every single page of yummy-ness:D

Funny story:)

So, about a week or so ago, my Mom and I were playing around in my craft room.  I was making paper flowers, and she decided to play with some Tim Holtz masks, glimmer mist and alcohol inks.  she did a couple samples and then complained that she hated them.  I, on the other hand, thought they were just fine.  So, in making my V-Day cards, I decided to use her "garbage".
Her sample was a 4.5x5.25 cardstock, with a plain white mask and glimmered with Velvet Red Glimmer Mist.  I tore it apart and used one corner on the left, and the other adhered to a tag.  Of course I had to distress them up a bit and add some gold Schmooch to it:D
She didn't recognize it as one of her rejects:)  Lesson:  There are no mistakes in art!
Love you, Mom!

Green?

Considering pink is my favorite color, I really was gravitating to green this weekend:D
