I wanted to an ah ha moment with you.  I have been very comfortable in my heavy coat of weight for many years.  One of those reasons is that when I was at a healthy weight, I received a lot of superficial attention from men.  That always bothered me, because I could they really like me when they didn't even know me?  Men tend to view our bodies first and then (sometimes never) get to know us.

I just couldn't stick with paper and pencil.  This was done on a wood with book paper, stencils, sprays, faber castell gels and markers.  This week's assignment looks very challenging.  I'll show you my "attempt" later this week.  Do you like creating faces?  The jury is still out for me.  Faces really are a challenge, but I do like how it makes you really study and look at things differently.

Ever have one of those days?  I woke up and must have slept pretty sound because I couldn't figure out what day it was.  My boss kept asking me what was wrong (as if I had some thoughts in my head).  Just one of those days.  And now my daughter is torturing me with Words with Friends (scrabble).  Can you believe this app let her use the word "arf"!!

This is the delicious breakfast my daughters made me this morning.  Homemade banana and chocolate chip pancakes.  Yum!  They even cleaned the kitchen afterwards!  (That was the biggest surprise:) Then I went to visit my mother, who just came back this morning from a 10 day trip up north with my aunt.  They do this twice a year to make cards, gamble and just bum around.  They deserve it.  That's

You wouldn't believe how ugly this canvas started out.  But that's what I love about mixed media art -- you just keep working it until you love the results.  This girl really surpassed my expectations.  It was worth the wait!

I actually had some time to create today!  Yay!  My husband was suddenly in the hospital last week with an infection that started with a bad tooth.  He's home now, but is still on daily antibiotic treatments intraveniously.  To say our life has been crazy would be an understatement.  But, as of today, he seems to truly be on the road to recovery.  Here is just a little of how I celebrated:

I was inspired by this travel old-world designer paper I used in the background.  It reminded me of my Grandmother who was born and Austria, came to the USA when she was 16 and used to always go back to Austria to visit her relatives.  She's been gone for 20 years, but I still have many, many fond memories of her.

Okay, so my husband just came home from the recycling center.  While he was there, two women in their mid-30s were there dropping off cans and left.  A little while later, a man tapped my husband on the shoulder and said some women wanted to talk to him.  It was those same two women and they had returned.  He walked up to their car and asked what they wanted.  They asked him if he was married!!!!

My brother, sister and I hosted a 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents yesterday.  What a GREAT day!  So much fun!  The party was pretty intimate -- relatives and their closest, dearest friends.  The highlight of the party was when we had the couples play a version of The Newlywed Game.  Too funny!  5 couples that entertained us whole-heartedly!  I can't thank them enough for the laughs

Talk about fun!  Since I was so sad not to find some Donna Downey stuff to buy at the CHA Craft Supershow last weekend, I treated myself to Donna's online store.  I bought her "She Said" Unity stamp collection and had some FUN! This was another cool project at CHA Supershow.  We were treated to getting our pictures taken and then went in line and met with someone that walked us through digitally cropping our picture into a scrapbook page.  We left with a 12x12 printout of our page!  How cool is this!!  This booth was presented by JessicaSprague.com.  Check out their site for more digital happiness!

This was an interesting product.  It was for a product called Tear Mender.  It's an awesome fabric glue that REALLY works well!  So, they had us make this make and take completely creating our seams with the fabric glue.  VERY good permanent seal.  I'll be buying this one at my hardware/hobby store.
